The Gwendoline van Putten School (GvP) is the only school for secondary education on Sint Eustatius (Statia) and one of the three secondary schools in Caribbean Netherlands (Saba, Sint Eustatius and Bonaire). The school has approx. 280 students and offers Practical Education, CCSLC, CSEC and CVQ. It is our aim to be a school where respect for each other as a person and as a representation of a set of convictions, is an important value. Education on our school means a thorough preparation on a successful future on Statia, the Caribbean Area as well as the world as a whole. We are offering challenging education in which students can deploy their talents by active learning in a safe and inspiring environment. The school started in the schoolyear 2015/2016 with a transition to the English instruction language. The CXC-regime (CXC = Caribbean Examination Council) has been adopted. The organisation is smallscaled: the lines of communication are informal and short. The management team consists of the principal, the vice principal and the leaders of the distinct teams.
