Carmel verbindt VO-scholen verspreid door heel Nederland. Op bijna 50 schoollocaties verzorgen wij een breed onderwijsaanbod. Are you an experienced Spanish as a foreign language (acquisition) teacher (ELE - español como lengua extranjera)? Your role as an Spanish Teacher

As a Spanish Teacher, you will inspire students to discover the Spanish language and culture through engaging and interactive lessons. You create a positive and structured learning environment in which students feel confident to develop their language skills and express themselves.

You use a variety of teaching methods to make lessons dynamic and relevant to students’ everyday experiences. In addition to teaching grammar and vocabulary, you encourage students to communicate, collaborate and broaden their cultural awareness.

With your enthusiasm and guidance, you help students grow both academically and personally, while making learning Spanish enjoyable and meaningful.

About the International School Groningen

The International School Groningen provides a comprehensive educational programme to approximately 160 students aged between 11 and 18. The school offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme to the first five years (age 11-16), followed by the Diploma Programme in the final two years (age 16-18). Your qualities

The successful candidate:

• Is an experienced secondary school teacher of Spanish.
• Can also communicate in English (English is the working language of the international school).
• Is a highly dynamic and motivated teacher who can differentiate within small mixed-ability groups.
• Has an awareness of the needs of an intercultural and inclusive environment.
• Is interested in taking an active role within the international school.
• With experience or knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years programme would have an advantage.
• Is qualified to teach in secondary education in the Netherlands (2e graads) (Foreign diploma? See here ).

What we offer you

We offer a temporary part-time position of 0,2,fte within a supportive and dynamic team of teachers and a well-resourced working environment. Our students are highly motivated and keen to learn.

You will initially be offered a fixed-term contract starting on 1 August 2026 for a period of 12 months. If all goes well, we will convert the contract to a permanent position and you will receive an appropriate salary in accordance with the CAO VO; Scale LB, up to €5.520 gross per month for a full-time role.

At a Carmel school you can count on good terms of employment based on the CAO VO, such as an 8.33% end-of-year bonus (full 13th month’s salary), an 8% holiday allowance, a good pension scheme and a contribution towards commuting costs.
