In Nederland is de, van oorsprong Noorse, organisatie de laatste jaren sterk gegroeid en inmiddels tellen we 89 kinderdagverblijven, peuterspeelzalen en BSO-locaties en 745 medewerkers.

English-Speaking Pedagogical Professional – Early Childhood | ASH

Norlandia Daycare ASH in Wassenaar is located within the Early Childhood Center of the American School of The Hague. This English-speaking childcare center is open 37 weeks per year for childeren aged 0 to 4 years. Our opening days alogn with the school's holidays and scheduled days off. Whenever the weather allows, we love spending time outdoors and enjoying some fresh air in our own garden.

Before applying, please make sure you meet the Dutch qualification requirements for working as a Pedagogical Professional in childcare.

If your diploma was obtained outside the Netherlands, you may need to have your qualification officially assessed and/or recognized before you can work in Dutch childcare.

Please note: a general diploma evaluation stating that your qualification is equivalent to Dutch HBO level does not automatically mean that you are qualified to work in childcare in the Netherlands.

Your qualification must meet the specific Dutch requirements for childcare.

Your role as a Pedagogical Professional

As a Pedagogical Professional at ASH, you help create a safe, warm, and stimulating environment where children can play, explore, learn, and grow.

You will:

Provide high-quality pedagogical care for children aged 0–4 years.

Support children's individual development through play and everyday experiences.

Create engaging activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and independence.

Provide a good balance between structure, routine, and freedom to explore.

Communicate openly and professionally with parents about their child's day and development.

Work closely with your colleagues to provide consistent and supportive care.

Contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for children, families, and colleagues.

We are looking for someone who:

Holds a qualification that meets the Dutch requirements to work as a Pedagogical Professional in childcare.

Can provide a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).

Communicates confidently in English.

Is creative, curious, and full of ideas, while also appreciating structure and clear routines.

Enjoys working with young children and supporting their development.

Enjoys spending time outdoors – even when it's raining!

Likes working as part of a close-knit and supportive team.

Feels comfortable working in an international environment with children and families from different backgrounds.

What we offer you

A salary within Scale 6 of the Dutch Childcare Collective Labour Agreement (CAO Kinderopvang).

An initial one-year contract, with the possibility of a permanent contract thereafter.

A part-time contract of 8 to 30 hours per week, depending on your availability and our staffing needs.
