Job opening: Family Assistant | Wassenaar

We are looking for an experienced Family Assistant for a family who can contribute to peace, structure, and continuity in their daily lives. This is an independent and responsible position within a family with (almost) adult children, in which discretion, reliability, and professional coordination are essential.

About the family

The family consists of a child living at home and a child studying who lives independently. The parents work (partly) from home and value clear communication, mutual trust, and a well-organized home situation. The home is a peaceful and safe base where clarity and predictability are important.

The role of Family Assistant As a Family Assistant, you are a permanent and stable factor within the household. You provide structure, maintain peace and quiet, and offer clear guidelines in a positive and respectful manner. You act independently, coordinate carefully, and know when closeness or space is appropriate.

In addition to this role, you support the household on an organizational and practical level, with a focus on overview and continuity.

• Preparing and supervising breakfast;
• Encouraging independence and personal control;
• Contributing to a peaceful start and end to the day;
• Listen attentively and provide space for conversations;
• Creating and monitoring clear and consistent frameworks;

Domestic and practical support

• Keeping the living environment presentable;
• Cleaning up after breakfast and keeping the kitchen tidy;
• Loading and unloading the dishwasher;
• Keeping bedrooms and common areas tidy;
• Organizing laundry and clothing;
• Grocery shopping;
• Healthy and varied cooking, taking food allergies into account;
• Coordination with domestic help;
• Identifying what is needed in the home and proactively anticipating this;

profile The ideal candidate:

• has demonstrable experience in a similar support role within a private environment;
• works independently and takes responsibility;
• has a calm, stable, and reliable appearance;
• communicates clearly, professionally, and respectfully;
• can set boundaries in a positive and consistent manner;
• is patient, flexible, and adapts easily;
• combines involvement with professional distance;

Collaboration and communication

The Family Assistant is expected to:

• communicates openly and transparently;
• handles confidential information professionally;
• clearly records and complies with agreements;
• contributes to a pleasant and respectful working relationship;

Practical requirements

• 4-5 business days;
• Maximum commute time approx. 15 minutes from Wassenaar;
• Driver's license required (car available)
• Possibility to live on site, there is a house available on the grounds;
• The family considers it important that someone is well-groomed and presentable.
• Command of the Dutch language;

Employment

• Competitive terms of employment;
• Salary indication: €3,500 – €5,000 gross per month based on 40 hours, depending on experience and profile;
• Long-term cooperation desired;
• Coaching and mentoring by TFA;
