Functieomschrijving

Family Assistant wanted (25-30 hours per week)

We are looking for a committed, independent, and energetic Family Assistant for a warm, active family who enjoys caring for a family and having fun with children. We are looking for someone who enjoys caring for others, takes ownership, thinks ahead, can plan, and always keeps their commitments. You are a stable factor in the home and ensure that daily life runs smoothly and pleasantly.

About the family

The family consists of two enterprising parents and their two daughters, aged 4 and 7. The parents work (partly) from home and have busy lives. That is why it is important that you work independently, bring calm to the home, and ensure that everything related to the children runs smoothly. The family is active, loves being outdoors, and attaches great importance to a healthy lifestyle and fixed daily routines.

Your role

In this role, the emphasis is on keeping the household in order and creating peace and clarity in the home. You combine this with loving attention for the children: you undertake activities with them, make things enjoyable, and provide clear structure. You think ahead, plan and organize, and have a good sense of what is needed to make daily family life run smoothly and relaxed.

What are you going to do?

• Doing laundry, folding laundry, and tidying up;
• Tidying up and keeping the house organized;
• Providing evening meals (freshly prepared) in consultation with the family;
• Shopping and managing supplies;
• All kinds of tasks, such as delivering packages and going to the dry cleaner's;
• Picking up the children from school and daycare;
• Playing together, going outside, and doing fun activities;
• Ensuring peace, rhythm, and a pleasant afternoon and evening routine;
• Organizing play dates, swimming lessons, and sports clubs;
• Flexible arrangements for illness, study days, or vacations;

You are warm, caring, and at the same time confident. You have a flexible mindset, take initiative, and enjoy really taking care of the family. You take ownership of your role and make sure things are taken care of.

Working days and hours

• Monday: 12:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Tuesday: 1:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
• Wednesday: 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
• Thursday: 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

A total of approximately 25-30 hours per week, with flexibility for vacations, possible extra work in the mornings, and in case of illness.

Practical matters

• Experience with children is important (experience as a nanny or family assistant is an advantage)
• A teaching qualification is not required but is desirable.
• Driver's license required (own car preferred)
• You speak Dutch and/or English;
• Living within 30-40 minutes travel time;

• Salary indication: €3,000 – €4,000 gross per month based on a 40-hour working week;
